Hey y’all! Still here and painting! Life is still crazy. Hoping that chills soon….. Hoping. Lol
The GBO and informally started playing Middara, and we’re definitely enjoying it! I think I posted my little cave sickles last time, but I had to color code them, and I ended up painting the earth loas and these weird tick-y guys too. They’re just little speed paints to get them on the table in something other than grey. 😁
Anyways, I got this super cool bust in, and I love her. She’s a beautiful sculpt. I forgot to take before pictures, so I only have a few WIP shots at the moment.
I’m working on doing something different with her skin. I underpainted her with pink to make her super warm. Then I have been doing highlights with yellow and shadows with a lavender. It’s coming out really well, and I can’t wait to keep fine-tuning it.
I also did some experimenting with my lights since I moved my painting desk (again!!). Notice the difference between pictures with the addition of the one warm light, and the ones without it.
Pretty crazy right? The warm light makes the yellow in her skin so so bright! So, that will have to factor into my painting and final pictures. I’m also attempting a cast shadow on her face. We shall see how that turns out.
Lastly, I’m attempting to paint the 15mm astronauts for the Massive Voodoo contest. They’re so adorable and so so tiny! I have a few ideas, but nothing nailed down quite yet. I just love them 😁😁

Anyways, that’s my excitement! I’ll try and keep updating more regularly, but you know… Life. Lol. I’m currently looking for a job, and it’s actually an awful market right now, but I do have 2 interviews, so that’s exciting! Hopefully I’ll nail down a perfect job and I’ll have a set schedule and time to paint soon!!
Please be safe, wash your hands, wear a mask, respect people. Basically, the rules of kindergarten. And a mask. 😁
Let me know what you think!

Stumbled across your site looking for Middara Cave Sickle reference art… and that idea of colour-coding the paint job (rather than using the base rings in the game) is utterly brilliant 🙂 I’m stealing that idea now… 😉
Your other art is excellent also 🙂

Well thanks so much! I’m glad you liked it. 🙂 Feel free to steal away! (That’s how we always coded our monsters for d&d, so it just came naturally. Lol)
