Whew! Sorry it’s been a while. It was finals week, valentines day, and GBO’s birthday this week. Didn’t leave a lot of time for progress. And the work I did was a little disheartening.

I think I’ve reached the point where I’m getting bored and want it to be done. Which is not a great place to be. So I’m going to update, get my head on right, and get ready for the long haul.

So, my test pour came out level, but had a weird void in it. Which means I need to do some research h into troubleshooting in case I have a void in my final cast. Can I pour into it? Can I make it look like I meant to do it? If I stand over it the entire time, can I pop a void before it’s final? So, those are my next hints to answer.

I decided to try my hand at sanding and determined I don’t have the patience to do it by hand. So I’m going to order some things from amazing and try them. I was having some trouble with the fact that I will be throwing away the test piece that I spend 3 hours polishing. So I may try to line my mold with some plastic too. That way I have a shinier surface.

Then I went to work on getting her pieces finalized so I could finally mount her on the base. I needed to twist her torso a bit to get their eyelines matching up. She’s mounted! And of course I broke a piece of her crown and had 7 heart attacks while I was doing so. But it’s better now. Phew! Oh, and I broke off her dumps like a truck. So I’ll have to reattach those. I couldn’t do it last night, I was too frustrated.

I still have to figure out what’s going in his hand. A tiny bouquet? A rock? A shell? No idea.

So, that’s where I’m at right now.

I will try a few more test pours, because I read thst the shinier the mold surface, the less sanding necessary. And I definitely noticed a difference between the different molds I have used.

On a completely different note, I am interested in getting one or more of the bones 4 gulper from the Dreadmere expansion.
