Hey y’all!

I’m still at home with the Tiny Overlord. We are seriously having a ball. We got him that trailer, so we ride bikes (“go on patrol”) every morning, play in the sandbox and draw sidewalk chalk until nap time, nap (Hallelujah!), and then ride bikes again when Daddy gets home from work. It’s been a fun routine to get into, and I should be skinnier and more tan when it’s all said and done. 🙂 The weather here has been nothing short of amazing. Staying around 75-80 at the hottest parts, and nice and cool in the mornings and evenings. I really can’t complain.

But I will…a little. 😀 I am studying and waiting for the testing sites to open back up. As of today, they’re scheduled to reopen on 4/13. So, I’m just hoping for the best, and trying not to cry at the practice tests. lol. I have 3 different resources for this test, and they’re all varying difficulties. I’m told 2 of them are significantly harder than the actual test, so I’ve been working through those first. This is good, because I’m learning a ton, but it’s a little demoralizing to miss so many questions. :S I’m just gonna keep working on it, and keep chugging along; nothing else to do.

Except paint!! I’ve worked some more on my cat burglar, I’m really trying to get his 5 o’clock and cast shadows right on his face. They’re bleeding together, but I think that’s how they do in real life anyways…? We’ll see. Still a WIP, but here he is!

I’m going to do more weathering on his leather. I have to do that in stages, and I’m not good at patience…. I’m trying though!! His rope turned out all wrong, and I’m going to have to go look at ropes to see what I like. His cloak is just barely started, so no pics of that yet. Let me know what y’all think about the blue and the shadows on his face so far.

Then I decided to restart another bust I had started before. I painted her up one day, didn’t like her eyes, so I poked them out. Then I painted them again, and didn’t like them. So, I just ripped her face off. 🙂

I liked what I had done with the rest of her skin though, so I tried just taking off to under her chin and then blending back in. I think it worked pretty well!She’s definitely still in progress, but I like the way she’s going. I mounted her on the other half of the plinth from the cat burglar. She has about 18 accessories to paint and add on… a bow, a fox, her arms, a quiver, a knife, and some random feathers. I love her though, so I’ll allow it!

Started working on the fox.I love the little foxes!! I’ll get him all lined out and mounted on her. I’m super excited about this, because we called our Tiny Overlord “Little Fox” when we found out we were pregnant. So this is kind of a fun model to paint for that reason.

Lastly, I started playing with some of my UV resin. After my other resin died a sad and attic-y death, I haven’t bought anymore. I just have the UV stuff from Green Stuff World. But I really do love it! I don’t know if y’all remember, but I’m obsessed with 4-leaf clovers, and my collection is up to 124 4-leaf clovers, 5 5-leaf clovers, and one 6-leaf clover. After finding the 6 leaf, I knew I couldn’t just press it like the others. So I dunked it in resin and made a little paperweight thing. Then I decided I should do a few more, and then I figured if I was doing all that, I might as well make a base at the same time! It sets super fast outside in the sunlight, and I like that so much better than the hours and hours that traditional 2 part resins take. So this is my foray into UV resin playing, and I need to order more now. 😀
