Sorry guys. I’ve seriously got to get my shit together.
Alright.
I had to deal with an interesting problem this month. I’ve done the resolutionary painting challenge every month for almost a year, and this month was the first month I almost didn’t make it. The fact that it involves painting 4 minis over the course of the month is indicative of how little I have been painting. So, I decided that working 4 days a week, cross-stitching, learning to crochet, and doing the renaissance festival 2 days a week = no sleeping. And since I need to sleep, something else has to go.
I’m gonna have that be the crocheting and cross-stitching. I was only doing a project for my friend, so I’m gonna finish that up and that will be done. Then I’m going to just eat the 6 dollars it will cost me to buy a snood for renfest, instead of the 20 I have spent (and hours, and hours) to make one. I can’t figure it out on my own at this point in time, and that’s that.
So, that means I’ll have more time. That would be nice. 🙂
So, here’s my offering for the day. She’s NSFW because I really like painting boobies. I’m not sure what’s so appealing about them. Maybe if they’re free she has more fun? I’m not sure. But I really like painting them, and judging from my blog hits, y’all like looking at them. I’m working on the other mermaid at this time too, but I think she’s gonna go to the backburner for the moment.
Here’s my Ariel!
I need to up my game on the hair still. I’m getting there, but I get nervous and think the highlight is too bright, and then I glaze it red again. And then I highlight it again, and then I think it’s too high, and…. You get the picture.
She was a lot of fun to paint, except for the fact that she’s one piece, so getting to her stomach was a bit of an effort. Also, fish/mermaid scales require a different technique than dragonscales, and I wasn’t anticipating that. Anyways, a couple of learning moments, and a LOT of fun. Hope y’all like her, C&C always welcome!

Nice work on the Green scales. I really like how the eyes (and makeup!) turned out. Well done.
Who makes this model?

Thank you! The eyeshadow is thinned down old West rose. This is a reaper mini, her name is Coral there.

Very nicely done. I like the glaze effect on the water. Simple bu teffective and it doesn’t draw attention from the mermaid.
