OMG, I’m over it!

Blah!!! My life is so busy I never get to paint!! Waah!

Okay, that’s over now. I have been working 4-5 days a week (still), and we decided to redecorate in the middle of last week. For fun. So, we moved all the junk out of the junk room (yes, we have one of those) into his room, so we could get all the new furniture into the new room. It was an ordeal. We bought him a new loft bed with a desk along the bottom, a wardrobe, a chest of drawers, and a bookcase. We bought it all from my favorite store IKEA (if you put it together right, use a little wood glue, it will last forever. seriously) so then we had to put it all together. Which was an ordeal. So, yeah. We’ve been doing that for the past 5 days. We also got a new bed for ourselves since it’s been 8 years since we bought this mattress, and we decided to downgrade to a queen. That took about 6 hours to put together, the Midget’s bed took about 2 hours, and it took me about 4 hours to put together all the other pieces in his room. So, yeah. Doing that after work every day means that I was exhausted. But I think it was worth it.. Look how happy he is!

So yeah. Last night, after doing all the laundry and dishes and getting groceries and doing general housework that had been neglected during the great move, I GOT TO PAINT!

I’m working some more on one of my exchange minis. She is turning out quite well, I think. The light here kind of washes out her face, but the pink there is pretty true to life.

So the question is, do I take the brown and pink and push the contrast, or am I pretty good? I put a black and white filter on it to see, and I feel like the brown could use just a little more, but the pink looks okay. Thoughts?

Anyways, I’m working on her base as well, I was thinking some marble ruins, because she’s definitely on the lookout for trouble.

While we were at IKEA, I got some new buckets to try out for storage on my desk. I’m hoping this will help keep clutter off my desk.. I like them!

I also ordered the Scale75 flesh paint set. I’m gonna try that out. I’ve heard a lot of great stuff about them, and I’m trying to up my skin game anyways, might as well try!

I’m hoping that life will slow down a little bit here for a while. I’m only working 4 days a week for the next couple of weeks, so maybe. I do have some things coming up that are exciting though! I’m going to see Taylor Swift in Houston next month, and our friends the Pirates of the Pride of Bedlam are releasing 2 new CDs as well! So that’s fun!

Alright, I’m done rambling! Hopefully I’ll get my computer up and running again soon (power surge surged through the surge protector 😦 ), and I get to painting some more so I won’t have as many excuses!!!

  1. Real life certainly eats into painting time! I think your paint job looks fantastic ‘as is’. I personally wouldn’t add anything further to her (apart from the base of course), great job!
