Hey y’all!

So, I’m working on Nyarlothotep. He’s gonna be Gnarlythotep. 😂

I saw down with the Great Bearded One and we were brainstorming for my giant monster entries this year. I knew I wanted to do nyarlothotep, but I wasn’t sure how I wanted to do it. After saying nyarlothotep about 83 times, we started shortening it to Gnarly. And when I think of gnarly, I think of skateboards. The rest is history. 😁

So, we busted out the new 3d printer and got started! We figured out the scale and printed this guy out.

While I was brainstorming for what I wanted on the board’s face, I started doodling and googling and came up with these little drawing ideas.

I did the Cthulhu face a few different times, at the right scale for the board. That was my favorite one. So I did a test paint on our test print (the trucks broke on this one, so I had an extra one while we printed another one).

Then I practiced more stuff. I think I want to do like stickers on the bottom of the board? I’m not 100% sure yet, but these are my mockup practice ones.

Then I really went to work on the top of the board. This is the finished product on the top. I really love it.

So, more work on the bottom, and then building the half pipe and finishing up Gnarly is all that’s left. 😂😂
