Hey y’all! Sorry….. We all know I suck at keeping up with this by now. Lol.
But I did finish the diorama with the Orks! I love it. Here’s a few more wip shots, and then the finished product.
I was doing a lot of stuff to try and figure out what I wanted the composition to be.. I always lose points in the diorama category because “it doesn’t tell a story”. bleh. So, I wanted it to be painfully obvious what the story was here.. lol. So I painted up a barrel that I had laying around. ( I don’t know if you can see it, but the tentacle is wrapping around the dagger stabbed into the parchment..)
Here’s some of the different compositions I tried… Back to back, different angles, a couple others, but they just didn’t quite work.
This is what I ended up deciding on! I hope y’all like them! I still crack up when I look at them. The base is stamped with a greenstuffworld roller, the lumpy soup is a mixture of green stuff and glass beads, and the tentacle is sculpted too. I wanted it to look like he was going to poke it and the blue one was ready to smack it. Let me know what y’all think! 🙂
I haven’t been completely sitting on my laurels, I have another couple of irons in the fire and other crafty things we’ve been doing! Legos…
Shirts and blankets and plants! I have made 3 or 4 more blankets at this time, and my gerbera daisies are super happy! Check out my double one!
And this bombshell. I love her a lot! I’m still working her out, but I think she’s gonna be a lot of fun to finish up.
We got our new Middara stuff, so I started up another one of their new resin minis. They’re really great sculpts and renders, I’m super happy with their crisp-ness. This girl doesn’t have all her loopies on yet, so there’s a few weird spots, but she is gonna be super cool here soon!
That’s pretty much my excitement! I really meant to update this a few weeks ago. I literally finished the diorama the day after my last post…. Y’all let me know what you think! Anyways, I’m super excited about reapercon coming up, and I hope to see y’all there!
Get vaccinated, wear your mask, wash your hands, help your neighbors!!!
