Dagon continued WIP

Hey! I got some more time in on dragon this morning! I’ve been doing lines and lines and lines. 😆

Plan is to get some more time this weekend, Grandma is going to take the Tiny Overlord and Chaos Goblin back to her house for an overnight and morning stay. Good thing too, because I have like 4 total painting times left to try and finish this guy, and I haven’t figured out how I’m going to base him yet. 👀

First things first, his bottom tail drags on the ground unless he’s on his integrated base. So I need at least part of it. So I’ll have to figure out how I want to do that.

Those tails are dry fit, btw. Nothing is attached but 3 of his appendages.

Added dots! And more dots. And some lines! They still need more, but I need to move onto his back and stuff, and will come back when I have an idea of what else to do.

Started lining his face and back scales. They’re really big, so I’m going to have to do a lot with them. But first, the outlining! (Then I go back and clean that up with white.) Then I go back and do more black lines!

This last group of pics is to show the detail on the lines. Because I have kind of a process for them too. I draw in the straight lines, just as a sketch, usually with a micron pen. Then I go back and go over the line with the brush, and extend the edge so it has a curve to it. (Then the normal, go back over it with white, fine tune with black again) That makes it seem like the edges of the scale are curved and wavy, instead of intact. Or, that’s the goal. You can tell me if it is succeeding..

That’s one side mostly done. Gotta do the arms and the belly. But I’m loving how it’s turning out!

To do list: finish painting, figure out base. No big, right? 😆

Good luck to everyone else! Can’t wait to see y’all at reapercon! I’ll be on artists’ alley and judging again, as well as trying my hand at some fun streaming, so come by and say hi!
