Snap, Crackle, and POP!

Hey y’all!! It’s been a while!

I have been so busy with work, and cookoffs, and keeping my house livable that painting kind of took a backseat last week. But not yesterday!! I managed to speed-paint and finish snap and crackle so the Hubs could use them in the game!

Hope y’all like them!! Snap is supposed to look like fire, Crackle like propane, and Pop like magma.* I think they turned out alright. I got the crystals mostly the same, and tried to make them look like a cohesive team. I’m working on my photography, and getting my visual field (f stop) right so that I can get everything in focus. It’s better, but still needs some work.

Next up is all the minis I have to finish for Hoard of the Dragon Queen. I have about 20** sitting on my desk that have to get painted, and I now have a deadline!! So, I have finished about 19 kobolds, 9 raptors, and like 10 hobgoblins. I have a whole bunch of cultists, fighters, guards, townsfolk, and dragons to finish. So that should be interesting. Got 4 days off coming up, guess I’ll have to get some extra caffeine and just roll!!!!

Until next time (hopefully sooner this time!!)

*My snotty geologist friend (:P) told me that it’s only magma when its underground. It’s lava when its aboveground. I told her to tell Pop that when she’s on the ELEMENTAL PLANE OF FIRE!! MWAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!

ahem. anyways. later.

  1. I really like how these turned out. I would have thought the colour schemes would be too different but they really work well. I particularly like the shading on Crackle. Really good for a speed painting job!
A note on the photography, I think if you set your focus point a little further back (just behind the front mini) the others will be in better focus. Just something that might be worth trying 🙂
